Windows 7 is finally publicize and mostly windows users finally deploy Windows 7 OS in their Computer systems. So here we are with a very useful tweak . Normally you all can see that whenever we are creating a new shortcut in Windows 7 OS , so you can see the shortcut text along with the file name on desktop (as shown in below picture).

linkregistry

So this time we are going to tweak this small thing by applying some changes in registry settings and trying to remove the shortcut text as we create new shortcut icon on desktop. So lets follow the below steps :-

* Just open up Start menu and on Run/Search Tab , type regedit

* By Selecting regedit open up the registry editor and move towards the following path of Registry.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

* Now apply changes in the Link key value and change 17 00 00 00 into 00 00 00 00

Important :- While you are performing changes make sure that your explorer is not in running condition , So before applying these changes just end up the explorer task with task manager .

Now finally you have done it and you will not see any further shortcut text with the Shortcut icon . Enjoy !!!!! :)
